MEMBER EVENTS
CHARLESTON
MLFC members toured several local food system sites in Charleston, including DirtWorks Incubator Farm, Sweetgrass Gardens CropStop/GAP shed, and GrowFood Carolina.
STATE FARMERS MARKET
MLFC members met with Gary Prince at the State Farmers Market to discuss initiatives which could increase production and distribution of local foods.
GREENVILLE
MLFC members explored key sites in Greenville's food economy, including The Café at Williams Hardware, Travelers Rest Farmers Market, Swamp Rabbit Café, and Mill Village Farms. They also met with Greenville County’s Greenways, Natural & Historic Resources Coordinator and the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Feed & Seed initiative.
ABOUT US
MLFC is a catalyst for local food system developments in the Midlands region of SC. Based on shared values of sustainable agriculture, land stewardship, and equitable access to food, the member organizations work together to strengthen the Midlands local food system through technical assistance, education, infrastructure improvements, and community organization.
